5 Key Leadership Style Outcomes Leading with Integrity and Compassion

In my experience, some of the hardest things to do may seem the most obvious, we learn to protect and shield ourselves from things we have developed through experience at home or at work, unlearning these behaviours is key if you’ve been in unhealthy environments.

I’ve worked for and in some seriously toxic environments, these produce the worst kind of protection mechanisms to trigger, which I’ve learnt to shed and let down as I mature, understand what I want, deserve and I’m willing to tolerate, Being your true self and showing vulnerability in a work environment is crucial for some key reasons below:

  1. 👌Authenticity Builds Trust: When you’re genuine and authentic, your colleagues are more likely to trust you. They see you as a real, relatable person rather than someone who’s putting on a facade.
  2. 👏Fosters Open Communication: Being open about your thoughts, feelings, and vulnerabilities encourages open and honest communication. This, in turn, leads to better problem-solving and collaboration within the team.
  3. 😎Strengthens Relationships: Vulnerability can help you connect with your colleagues on a deeper level. It shows that you’re human and not afraid to admit your imperfections, which can lead to stronger, more genuine relationships.
  4. 🥇Encourages Innovation: A work environment where people feel safe being themselves is often more innovative. Team members are more likely to share new ideas and take risks when they know vulnerability is embraced.
  5. 💡Enhances Integrity: When you’re true to yourself, you are more likely to align your actions with your values. This consistency enhances your integrity and makes you a more trustworthy team member.
